This region located half an hour from Ensenada downtown and it's the ideal destination for those who enjoy amazing food paired with a nice glass of wine. And what a better way to taste straight from the source. Valle de Guadalupe produce most of the Mexican Wine, and with over 100 wineries your choice is endless. That's why we did our research and explored the best hotels and the restaurants that you should visit in Guadalupe Valley so you can enjoy your weekend getaway. So here it's our ultimate guide to spend a perfect weekend at Valle de Guadalupe. 


How to get there?

  • Fly to Tijuana or cross the border from San Diego.

  • You must have a car or rent a car in order to explore Valle de Guadalupe.

  • There are many options in Tijuana Airport.

  • Using a GPS is essential, we also recommend you to download the guide and map of Discover Baja California so you won't get lost getting to your destination. Although getting lost is part of the adventure.

  • From the border (Tijuana) it should take about 1:40 minutes drive. They are in excellent condition but expect to pay tolls. Enjoy the immense scenery of the Pacific Ocean to your right.

 

Itinerary:


Friday:

  • 5:00 P.M. To begin, you can go to visit the terrace inside Encuentro Guadalupe, relax and charge some energy watching the sunset enjoying a good coffee. Don't forget to ask for some churros, it's definitely a must while you are there!

  • 7:00 P.M. By this time you will probably be hungry, so what a better way to start your food experience at Laja Restaurant.

 

  • 9:00 P.M. It's time to unpack and rest under the moonlight in one of the bubbles of Campera Hotel Burbuja and live the unique experience of waking up with an amazing view of vineyards.


Saturday:

  • 9:00 A.M. It's breakfast time! La Cocina de Doña Esthela is the ideal place to enjoy a perfect Mexican breakfast meal. Nothing too fancy, but the handmade tortillas and their lamb specialty will make this place an unforgettable experience. Make sure you come early because it does get packed!

  • 11:00 A.M. Now the important part: wine tasting! It's time to start enjoying some good wine. The first stop will be at Vinícola Emevé.

  • 12:00 A.M. Now that the party is getting started, is time to make a stop at the Monte Xanic warehouse.

  • 1:30 P.M. With so much wine now we're getting hungry, right? It's time to get lunch and get a good taste of the authentic flavors from Baja at La Esperanza Baja Med.

  • 3:30 P.M. It's time to rest a little after getting that tasteful meal and get your way to check in one of the suites of Casa 8 en Bruma. Relax and enjoy the pool or if you would rather be active then you can take a horse ride and explore the place.

  • 7:00 P.M. It's time for dinner! While being in Bruma you have the chance to enjoy its excellent restaurant Fauna and be surprised by their experimental menu that will make it an unforgettable meal.

Sunday: 

  • 8:30 A.M. Let's get up early this time so we can take advantage of our last day in Valle de Guadalupe. And what a better way than enjoying a delicious breakfast at Familia Samarin. Don't forget to get their Russian bread and their variety of delicious handmade jams.

  • 10:00 A.M. Now let's get back to business and keep enjoying the wine tasting now at the Barón Balché one of the best wine houses in Mexico.

  • 12:00 P.M. It's the perfect time to enjoy a good lunch. Inside Finca Altozano founded by Chef Plascencia, in the same complex, you can also find Lupe, a food truck of tortas (Mexican sandwiches) like no other, their bread freshly made, and their fresh and quality ingredients, paired with the amazing view of Guadalupe Valley will make it a unique experience. To keep your energies charged you can walk next door and visit Daz Cortes to enjoy a nice cup coffee in the heart of Guadalupe Valley.

  • 2:00 P.M. Now with your batteries recharged and a full belly, you can continue the tour at Museo del Vino (Wine Museum). Just don't forget to make a reservation days before so you won't miss the opportunity of getting a guided tour through the vineyards.

  • 4:00 P.M. What a better way to say goodbye with a wonderful dinner at Malva where you will get you full authentic flavors of Baja with a contemporary touch.

  • 5:30 P.M. Sadly, everything has an end. Now it's time to pack your bags and take your way to the airport and go back home so you can finally meet your friends and tell them about the wonderful experience you just lived.
